The City of Somerville is conducting a survey to better understand the current arts space landscape and identify any gaps or unmet needs. Your responses will help shape City policies, guide arts-related programs, and ensure that City-owned spaces like the Armory, as well as community-responsive arts initiatives like SomArt, are meeting community needs. The results may also inform developers and property managers on how to meet their Arts and Creative Enterprise requirements.
We want to hear from everyone in the arts ecosystem—from individual artists to large arts organizations—working and creating art in the Boston-Cambridge-Somerville area.
To keep the data accurate, we ask that each organization (such as a business, nonprofit, or collective) designate one representative to complete the survey. Individual artists should respond based on their own space needs.
If you wear multiple hats—for example, as both an individual artist and a representative of an organization—please choose one perspective for your first response, and consider submitting a second response for the other.
Your participation is voluntary. This survey should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Please provide your input by Friday, August 29, 2025. Thank you!
