• Somerville Youth Climate Action Fund

  • Bloomberg Philanthropies has selected the City of Somerville to participate in the 2026-2027 Youth Climate Action Fund cohort, which provides capital and capacity to support municipalities in mobilizing young residents ages 15–24 in designing and delivering climate solutions aligned with citywide priorities. Through the Youth Climate Action Fund, Somerville has been awarded $50,000, which will be distributed as microgrants of up to $5,000 to youth-led climate action projects.

    Microgrant project applications must address one or more goals or priorities identified in Somerville’s community climate action plan, Climate Forward. Project priority areas include: buildings & energy, community health & resiliency, natural resources & waste, transportation & mobility, and leadership.

    The application period is September 1 - October 15, 2026. 

     

    This application needs to be submitted in collaboration with the program partner organization.
